We specialize in supporting Boutique Shops and Lifestyle Concept Stores with flexible production scales. Our typical MOQ ranges from 20 to 50 units per batch. This allows our partners to maintain exclusive collections and minimize inventory risks while still receiving artisan-quality products.

Absolutely. While 80% of our products are designed in-house, we function as a collaborative workshop. We offer comprehensive ODM services, allowing you to customize materials, dimensions, or branding on our existing templates. We also have the capability to manufacture accessories based on your specific technical drawings and requirements.

Quality and longevity are our top priorities. We use high-grade materials, including FSC-certified wood, premium metals, and genuine leather. Every finished piece is treated with a specialized protective coating that preserves the natural aesthetic of the materials while ensuring resistance to humidity, UV exposure, and harsh outdoor temperatures. This durability has been proven and highly praised by our long-term clients in the demanding Japanese market.

Because our products require meticulous hand-finishing, our lead time is generally 30 to 45 days from the moment the design is finalized. For smaller batches or accessories with existing molds, this timeline may be shorter. We prioritize “slow-made” precision to ensure that every item meets our high-end craftsmanship standards before leaving the workshop.

We employ a hybrid production model to ensure “Japanese-standard” precision. We produce raw components (such as table frames and joints) in standardized batches to ensure dimensional accuracy. The final assembly, detailing, and finishing are then performed meticulously by hand. This process, combined with a rigorous multi-stage quality control (QC) system, ensures that every product in a 50-unit batch is as perfect as the original prototype.

When you purchase  something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and  email address
 
When you browse our store, we also  automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and  operating system.

We may send you emails about our store,  new products and other updates.

 

Consent

How do you get my consent ? When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and  using it for that specific reason only.

If we ask for your personal information  for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. 

How do I withdraw my consent? If after  you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to  contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at info@anbantea.jp.

We may disclose  your personal information if we are required by the Japanese law to do so.

 

Third Party Services

In general, the  third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your  information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services  they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service  providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors,  have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required  to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.        

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which  your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a  different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you select to proceed with  a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider,  then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.     

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act. 

Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

 

Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. As all payments are made through Anban Tea, we will not store your credit card information.

Pricing And Payment

Your Transaction

We accept MasterCard, VISA, AMEX, Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay. A price is provided for each product in a currency based on the delivery address entered at time of checkout (not the billing address).

Local Consumption Taxes and Customs Duties

The price paid doesn’t include local consumption taxes and customs duties. We are located in Japan and ship from that country. Customs duties and local consumption tax vary depending on the country of destination.

Customs duties depend on the type of goods and sometimes benefit from Free Trade Agreements. In countries with consumption tax, this tax is applied even if such an agreement exists.

Freight forwarders like FEDEX or postal services will pay those taxes on your behalf to local customs and request payment at time of delivery, and they charge a fee for this service. These costs aren’t part of the shipping fees and must be paid to receive your order.

We will not provide a refund should you refuse to pay the due taxes to the transporter.

The transporter will contact you by SMS or email ahead of delivery for payment of taxes. In case of doubt about the legitimacy of the message (fear of scam), double-check the tracking number against the one our system sends you at time of completion of order.

 

Rates of customs duties on tea leaves

  • United States: update 07.08.2025 : 15% duty for all shipments, regardless of value. Please read our latest information here.
  • Canada: For most cases, customs clearance fees and taxes are billed upon delivery to the recipient. Customs clearance fees: Transaction Fee (CA$5.25), Processing Fee (CA$11.25 or 2.5% of value of duties & taxes, if higher). Taxes: Customs duty, GST/PST/HST
  • United Kingdom: no duty up to 32 GBP (3.2 % over 32 GBP)
  • European Union: no duty up to 20 Euro (3.2 % over 20 Euro)
  • United Arab Emirates: no duty
  • Singapore: no duty
  • Taiwan: no duty up to 300TW dollar (19.4% over 300TW dollar)
  • China: no duty up to 1,000 Yuan (15% over 1,000 Yuan)
  • The Republic of Korea: no duty up to 100,000 Won (513.6% over 100,000 Won)

Anban Tea is currently studying technical and logistic solutions available so that our EU customers may pay local VAT at time of purchase, in order to cut down additional transporter fees. E-commerce developers are working on technical solutions and we will communicate on this point as soon as possible.

Shipping Policy

Coverage

We deliver worldwide except in the following countries due to geopolitical situations or local regulations forbidding import of green tea: Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Russia, Belarus.

Only a few cities are covered by DHL in Ukraine. Please contact us to check if a delivery is possible.

 

Timeline

  • Orders are processed between 1 and 5 business days depending on stock availability and time of the year, with some seasons (first harvest, holidays seasons) being busier than others. Some products are prepared at time of order by the producer. We will contact you in case of unusual delay. ‍
  • All orders are shipped with DHL International Priority service (the fastest).
  • On average, delivery time is 2-3 business day for North America, 3-4 business days for Europe but customs controls may extend that timeline. An order completion email with a tracking number will be sent to your email when the parcel is shipped. Make sure to keep this reference in case you receive SMS or emails from Fedex or postal services.

 

Costs

  • Anban Tea covers part of the shipping fees. Customers pay a progressive rate based on parcel weight thanks to special rates exclusive to Anban Tea. ‍
  • Free shipping is available for orders starting at USD 300 to most destinations, with a few exceptions in case the freight forwarder cannot deliver at their usual rates due to the remote location, which forces us to raise the threshold.

Returns

Solving An Issue

We only accept returns and exchanges for defective products. Returns and exchanges for defective products are only accepted within 7 days after reception of the products.

Please check out the products right after you recieve them. If the product is used, we cannnot accept returns and exchanges. For returns and exchanges of defective products, please contact us.

You must contact us before sending back any merchandise. We will respond as soon as possible.

Eligibility

Wholesale accounts are available to licensed businesses, retailers, distributors, and food service operators.

A valid business license, resale certificate, or tax ID may be required during account setup.

 

Minimum Order Requirements

Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ): USD 300 per order (unless otherwise agreed).

Products are typically sold in case packs (exact pack sizes will be provided per item).

Sample orders may be available upon request for evaluation.

 

Pricing & Payment

Wholesale pricing is provided upon account approval.

Prices are subject to change without prior notice due to fluctuations in raw material and logistics costs.

Product Freshness & Storage

All teas are packaged and sealed to maintain freshness.

Please store products in a cool, dry, and odor-free environment, away from direct sunlight.

We cannot accept responsibility for product quality issues resulting from improper storage by the buyer.

 

Returns & Claims

Due to the perishable nature of tea, we do not accept returns on wholesale orders unless products are damaged or incorrect.

Claims must be made within 7 days of delivery, with photographic evidence provided.

Approved claims may be eligible for replacement or store credit.

 

Branding & Resale

All products purchased from Anban Tea are intended for resale in their original packaging.

Use of our brand name, product photos, or marketing materials requires prior approval.

Private label / OEM options are available upon discussion.

 

Confidentiality

Wholesale pricing and terms are confidential and must not be disclosed to third parties.
